Fort Collins Relocation

Fort Collins Relocation – Moving to a Great New City!

Relocating to a new city can be exciting and challenging. As a Fort Collins Realtor and someone who has talked the talk and walked the walk. I know exactly the feelings and emotions that can come up during a big move. I will help make Fort Collins Relocation go as smooth as possible. My family and I did exactly this almost 8 years ago. We relocated to Fort Collins with an 18 month old, a three year old and a seven year old. We also had no jobs lined up, no family nearby, and two mortgages. For me finding a great neighborhood and a great Fort Collins school was most important on the list. Location, location, location.

Research

We did our research, but did not have anyone guiding us on what schools would be good for our kids. The Fort Collins Realtor we had selected didn’t have school-aged children and really didn’t know anything about the schools there. We almost made a huge mistake. Luckily something was not right with the homes she was showing us. We did more research and found a great neighborhood for our family.

You Need a Relocation Expert

When selecting a Fort Collins Realtor you need someone who has the same interests as you. They need to be able to relate to you. If you have a family and schools are important, you do not want someone who is twenty something and has no idea how important the schools are. Where you are in life has a big impact on how you select a home. I am here to guide you and help you make the best decision possible for you and your family when you do relocate to Fort Collins.

I have school-aged children that have gone to 5 different Fort Collins schools, so I think I can give you a pretty good opinion on how the schools differ and what I liked about them and what I didn’t like about them, but again this is solely based on my opinion.

Areas of Expertise

My husband(business partner) and I also do a lot of fix n flips in the area so I am very well versed on the investment opportunities that are available around Fort Collins. I am very open about whether or not I feel a home would be a good investment for you or whether it may not really make sense at this time. I can also help you look at a home and tell you with some paint and new lighting you will have a whole new place. We have been doing the fix n flips for years, well before we had kids so we know this part of the market extensively.

Another area of expertise that I pride myself in is the empty-nester market. I have parents and my parents friends who have started to talk about a Fort Collins relocation and no longer need large homes. They no longer have children at home and are looking at the Fort Collins area as a great place to retire, so they are deciding to relocate here. It definitely is a great place to retire and I can definitely help you achieve this goal. I think I remind a lot of my clients in this age bracket of their own kids and they love me. I really do enjoy helping the empty nesters as they are so loyal and really appreciate all the help and guidance I provide. It’s so nice to be appreciated don’t you think?

Fort Collins Schools

Great Schools
Elementary, middle and high school information for Fort Collins schools for public, private, and charter schools nationwide. A lot of times people like to search for a new home by school. You find the perfect school that you would like your child to attend. Then you find a house in a neighborhood that feeds into that school. Search and compare schools in Fort Collins; view test scores and class sizes; and find advice about going back to school, college prep, No Child Left Behind, summer reading lists and more. You need to take these ratings with a grain of salt. Test scores are telling but it is best to talk with actual parents who have actual children that attend these schools and get their opinions. Some people will love one school for one thing and you might not need or want that thing they love about it so it is best to get a few opinions. Take a tour of the school, talk to the principal, read online. All great ways to gain information about a new school.

School Matters

A public source of information and analysis about our nation’s public schools and public high school districts. Another great source when looking for a home in Fort Collins. Find as many sources as you can and take everything into account. You can find a good Fort Collins school that will fit your child’s needs.

We have 3 school-aged children. I know that when looking for a new home, schools were the most important item for me. Next, came the house. Tailoring your Fort Collins real estate search around the schools is a pretty good way to go about it. It whittles the  neighborhoods down quite a bit.
